Enjoy the Ride
I bought a new cd tonight! which i was a little hesitant to. 2 of the last couple i bought werent super great. BUT this one is really good. at least so far :) I bought "enjoy the ride" by Sugarland. I really LOVE "want to" and "settlin'" those are the two reasons i bought the cd, Ive been listening to it randomly tonight as i do stuff on my computer-i also really like "county lines" Ive started looking for a job for post-grad, which is coming up pretty quick- 3 months! Holy COW!!! Im not ready to leave. But as I start looking for possible jobs, im starting to get really excited for this new chapter in my life. Its definatly scary though-all my life I've always known the next move-grade school-go to middle school-graduate high school, ok now pick a college. Sure picking a college was a little scary, but i think i always knew Id end up at UofI. But now its "real world" -i could do ANYTHING i wanted (well some limits) i mean i couldnt go be a surgeon, but if i wanted to i could go to med school. if i wanted to go be a bum in Italy-i could. If i wanted to join the Peace Corps-i could. do mission work in Africa-yup! If i wanted to move to LA and be a actress-i could! wouldnt happen-im thinking Id be a terrible actress. But i mean my options are endless! I guess they were there after high school too. but for me college really was the best 'next step' for me. I needed to grow before doing something crazy. BUT as much as i want to do somethign crazy and unexpected-i really do want to be an athletic trainer. I love it! Its such a cool job. I just wish i knew where i wanted to work. I mean Im gonna go where the job takes me, but do i want to stay here? or go somewhere new? Or maybe I'll just take my sister up on that cardboard box in her house option...
Alright -thats enough future talk-time for sleep :)
"Fifteen minutes left to throw me together
For Mr. Right Now, not Mr. Forever
Don't know why I even try when I know how it ends
Lookin' like another, "Maybe we can be friends."
I've been leaving it up to fate
It's my life so it's mine to make
I ain't settlin'
For just getting by
I've had enough so-so
For the rest of my life
Tired of shooting too low
So raise the bar high
"Just enough," ain't enough this time
I ain't settlin' for anything less than everything
With some good red wine
And my brand new shoes
Gonna dance a blue streak around my living room
Take a chance on love, and try how it feels
With my heart wide open
Yeah, you know I will
Find what it means to be the girl
Who changed her mind
And changed the world
I ain't settlin'
For just getting by
I've had enough so-so
For the rest of my life
Tired of shooting too low
So raise the bar high
"Just enough," ain't enough this time
I ain't settlin'For just getting by
I've had enough so-so
For the rest of my life
Tired of shooting too low
So raise the bar high
I ain't settlin'
No, no, no, no, no, no
So raise the bar high, high
