Disney
This is a topic Ive thought about several times and I was reminded of it recently when my friend and I had a conversation about it. Disney movies-the classic cartoon is no longer a reality. which is really sad to me. Maybe its part of growing up, life changes.. but no thats not it-because the classic Disney cartoon has been around.. for well forever!!! yes forever.. ok well like 1920s i think. So from 1920s to 1998.. thats about 80 years.... of classic cartoons- and now within the last 10 years they have almost done away with all the cartoon Disney movies. Sure they have good movies still-Finding Nemo (computer animated), Lilo and Stitch(cartoon, but not classic Disney) Im going to say it.. Mulan was the last classic Disney movie. well i guess If im using classic Disney (i'll explain what i mean by that) i would have to go from 1937-1998 -Snow White to Mulan. These are the years of *and heres my explanation of "classic Disney"* cartoon 2-dimensional full of random singing. that makes a great Disney movie. They just dont make movies with songs like "this is love" "Be Our Guest" "The Bare Necessities" "Under the Sea" "A Whole New World" "I just cant wait to be King" "Colors of the wind" the working song that the mice sing in Cinderella.. I mean come on theres a whole series of Sing-Along VHS tapes, yes thats right VHS! of Disney songs: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disney_Sing_Along_Songs ok not all of these are cartoons-but a solid chunck are and NONE of them are from Finding Nemo, Monsters Inc or Ratatouille.. ok dont think Im knocking these because they are great (maybe not Ratatouille) but its not a classic... Pixar (which isnt Disney? who knows) has created a new genre of cartoons and its leaving the old cartoons behind. Polar Express-also not Disney-has creepy computer generated kids. I think that movie would be better with 2D non creepy cartoon kids.
Im stepping off the soap box... and putting in Beauty and the Beast.. put down Chicken Little and do the same!

you are WEIRD sherrie... esp that last comment at the end. no but i completely agree about the disney movies. they just dont satisfy me anymore. i LOVED Mulan! I'll make a man outta you! aw i need to go watch that sometime : ) maybe this week! well, now ill keep periodically checking your blogs, so you can april fool's me someday! hehe
