Gelatocrawl!!!
Ciao! Not sure who all I told about this, but last Friday was our last day of Italian, both a happy and sad moment. That was also our final exam (only exam) for the class, which counted for 1/3 of our grade, (1/3 from participation and 1/3 from completing the homework that we never turned in...) and Im taking my classes here for a grade, so i had to do well. Nobody wants to be 'that guy' who failed a study abroad class. Ok i wasnt going to fail it, but i didnt want to do bad. for the last week and a half theres been talk of a gelato crawl, which is like a barcrawl, but instead of drinking, we'd be eating gelato. At first i wasnt going to go-thats a lot of gelato, and a lot of money to spend on gelato. So i wasnt gonna go, but then our teacher was going to come and we told her she had to speak only English (which didnt happen) so i decided to go to one or two... Well i actually went to every one, BUT i only ate gelato at the first 6... one scoop each place. I figured you're only in Italy once (well hopefully not, but most likely) and youre only in Italy with 39 other people! so i went on a gelato crawl! it was fun. I tried a different flavor at each one (except the first one) i had after eight (in a cone), then blue (i have no idea what it was. it didnt have a name next to it, it had little m and m type candies, and tasted blue) then spagnola (? im not sure that the name, something like that-cherryish) then mango, then ananas (pineapple), then ace (carrot? orange and something else fruity). the last 5 were in cups, which i saved two of them, they were nice plastic (we'll see if those make it home) I was going to alternate a chocolate flavor with a fruity one...but then realzed Ive had almost all the chocolatey flavors. expect for one, but once i got started on the fruit kept going. I had the one chocoalte flavor i hadnt had yet today... (some people make it through 10 scoops of gelato, i considered going past 6 but thats when i ran out of change...i only had a 50 Euro... and i think they wouldve hurt me if i gave them that...they are all abou the exact change here. But 6 was good...i feel like 7 wouldve been a better number, but we went to dinner about an hour or two after the gelato, so 6 was good.
This weekend was amazing! Venice, Lake Garda, and now Florence. I'll write more about those later, but i think my friend is almost done looking for flights for this weekend, when I will hopefully be in Rome. I think we still have yet to find a place to stay, but hopefully we'll find something. it just might not be a good location :/
Ciao!
