Ciao! Its Friday, at 14:44 here, beautiful day. a little warm, but not too bad. Class was a little rough today, 5 days straight, 3 hours of Italian a day, all in Italian, takes a lot out of you. It definatly felt like a Friday. But ive been learning a lot, Sarah and I watched some tv on our roommates tv, we understood some of the words, but not enough to really understand what was going on. We did understand the weather though, The whole country of Italy had tiny little suns on them, we're guessing sunny.
Today in class we were working on pronunciations. Our class is not doing well in that... its just some italian letters have different pronunciations depending on what letters are around it. C can have a ch sound or a k sound usually the ch is a k sound and c is a ch sound, but sometimes the c is a k sound. and G...thats another rough letter... ghi, ghe, gn, gli, g and vowels all have different pronunciations. So we were practicing gli today... cuz you dont say it like you would in english... so we were all praciticing and it sounded like the part in Monty Python and the holy grail...with the whole NI! thing... funny.
Yesterday Raquel, sarahs friend, that i know came to visit us. She just finished a semester in Spain. So we went out to dinner last night at this place that had a outside area to sit and eat which we did. So we sat and ate our pizza, pasta and bread, with the arena to our right (which is older than the Coliseum in Greece) which i also live by...yeah be jealous :) and one of the old city walls to our left... it was awesome!
Im traveling this weekend, two day trips, one with some friends tomorrow and one as a group Sunday.
Ciao!
