candles and heat...not a good idea
Hi... so I had a little life lesson today, which apparently everyone (and by everyone i mean my parents) already knew, and just didnt tell me. If you've been reading this you have a pretty good idea, ive been busy this summer. Italy, home for a week, then to school for a few days to work, hang out and pack up, then back home for less than 2 days then to MN for a week, now IM back. (just a rough list in case you missed it all) so needless to say, I havent unpacked much at all-my room is a mess and thats puttingit nicely, but thats not the point. the point is that i left two very big (and HEAVY) boxes in my car for about a week and a half. I had forgotten what was in them, i just remembered books in one and dishes in the other... I forgot, however, that i packed a box of tealights (vanilla flavored) in the box with the dishes... this box of tealights had a hole on the top so you could smell the vanilla. Its pretty hot here and Ive been driving those two boxes around in the heat and my car sits outside all day..in the heat. So today my dad was like 'lets get those boxes out of your car' So we did, and i noticed that one of the boxes (the dishes one) had a wet spot on the side. I didnt remember putting anything liquid in there so i opened the box up, didnt see anything except dishes and a box of tealights... then i saw that the tealights no longer had wax in them. The wax had melted and because i drove it around for so long in the heat, it got all over my dishes (well what was close to the tealights) and pillowcases that i wrapped some of the dishes in... and of course it is this point in time when my parents decide to tell me to pack candles in a seperate box.
Its not their fault though, it shouldve occurred to me that duh candles+enclosed box+heat=BAD IDEA!!! but then again i had actually planned on unpacking the boxes from my car the moment i got home, but then decided that unpacking my car could wait until the next day and then the two heavy boxes could wait until i got back from MN. I was only home for a day and decided to hang out with my best bud Lori. totally forgetting about the candles...
This is a bit of side note...fyi-dont put dishes/cups that have wax on them in the dish washer...not such a bright idea, unless you dont mind running it a few times. especially when the cup or dish didnt have a whole lot on it in the first place...
